Job Description
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing DevOps organization. If you are someone who is passionate about quality, microservices, operational excellence, solving complex problems, building cool stuff, or just jazzed about everything that goes into it, we want to talk with you!
Requirements:
At least 3 years relevant experience in the SRE role
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Computer science degree or comparable education/experience
Strong understanding of Unix shell, built-in functions and scripting
Experience building and operating large-scale systems
Experience working with most AWS and Azure cloud technologies (Elasticbeanstalk, Cloudformation, KeyVault, Blob Storage, S3, SQS, Elasticsearch, etc.)
Strong understanding of server/proxy technologies (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat)
Experience with programming and scripting languages (Java, Perl, Python, JS, Shell, SQL, JQL, etc.)
Experience with configuration management technologies (Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
Experience with monitoring and logging technologies (Stackify, ELK, Kibana)
Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, AWS, GitHub, Docker, Testim)
Experience with a variety of database management systems (MySQL, MongoDB, MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
Strong understanding of the software and systems development lifecycle
Strong understanding of networking/messaging protocols and services
Strong understanding of architectural principles, frameworks, and tools used in SaaS environments
Familiar with network security and best practices
Strong interpersonal skills with a can-do attitude and thrives in a fast paced environments
Employee Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Contribute to the long-term scalability, performance, and availability of client’s SaaS and on- premise environments
Triage and solve reliability challenges that span multiple platforms, services, and stacks
Working closely with internal teams to ensure that we ship software that meets security, SLA,and performance requirements
Develop tools and automation to minimize delivery time and increase developer productivity.
Participate in the design and development of new and evolving services, architecture, and performance standards
Participate in and strongly influence capacity planning and service performance analysis and tuning.
Influence in development of best practices for deployment, monitoring and alerting.
Support team members in the development of a SOA strategy and migration path.
You are considered a “security employee” and have a particularly noteworthy security aspect to your role and are required to undergo additional training annually.
Administer and ensure logical security in carrying out all job duties
Support in Security Incident response and monitoring, as needed
Support quality initiatives through quality engineering and testing
Document decisions regarding technology choices, best practices and process flow including runbooks, playbooks, post mortems, etc.
Perform RCAs and post mortems on incidents/outages seeking solutions for long-term prevention
