ZigZag is looking for a Senior Test Analyst to join our team!

Our Client is Australia's leading event ticketing, bookings, and registrations platform hosting 15,000+ events a week. The online system has been designed to manage the entire event process end-to-end for both event managers and attendee. Working within a great team including developers and testers, you will be a significant part of their team developing and executing the testing strategy to ensure continual ongoing quality for their users. This includes creation of automation testing frameworks as well as automation tests for UI, API,
compatibility, and load & performance levels of testing. The QA team owns the quality assurance process for the product, from planning to execution, and leads the defect analysis and resolution workflow to maintain their exceptional standards. Critical to the role will be the ability to write and execute both manual and automation tests. Reporting to the QA Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Product & Planning
Understand the overall functionality, features, and use of their software products to an expert level.
Actively participate in requirements discovery to harness a solid understanding of epics and stories and their priorities.
Document team processes and testing work as required by the team.
Contribute to continuous improvement in our development, delivery process, tools, frameworks, and testing.
Actively participates in requirements discovery to harness a solid understanding of epics and stories and their priorities.
Conduct risk analysis of each release from a QA perspective and flag areas of attention for other team members.
Actively participate in estimation ensuring a balance between speed to market and quality.
Work as part of the delivery team made up of multi skilled members covering development, testing, infrastructure, and security.
Share knowledge with other team members on best practice and testing frameworks and tools.
Test case creation
Identify scenarios and test cases from requirements.
Creating documented manual test cases.
Programming automated test cases.
Ensure a balance of coverage between automated tests manual tests with an emphasis on efficiency.
Test execution
Execute testing according to the test strategy for the sprint plan.
Ensure test cases and test runs are tracked as per QA best-practice processes.
Creating test plans to ensure coverage of features and releases.
Executing test cases and documenting results.
Providing traceability of test case execution results to user stories and defects for coverage.
Test reporting
Reporting on progress, quality of deliverables and risks.
Defect management
Recording and managing defects with defect details, investigation results and test steps.
Assisting developers with recreating defects.
Skills and Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an IT related field.
Required
Manual testing experience.
A natural inquisitive and curious mind to better understand and anticipate how users will use the system.
Excellent communications skills to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience playing a similar role in a fast-paced agile web development environment.
Strong understanding of industry wide testing best practices, including manual, automated, exploratory, BDD, TDD and risk-based testing techniques amongst others.
Experience with automation tools, preferably Cypress, and/or experience with Typescript is a must.
Preferred
Strong understanding of software development and use of SQL, API concepts and tools.
API Testing experience.
A thorough understanding of modern web methodologies, including but not limited to, agile, Kanban and continuous delivery.
