As part of our Global Software Engineering team, this IT professional team member will be part of the regional system support team to support our financial back office & related data integration from operating systems to the reporting system, which needs to view, analyse, and evaluate business systems and user needs. Document requirements, define scope and objectives and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies.
Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
Improve systems by studying current practices, designing modifications
Recommend controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures
Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget
Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Maintain the financial and customer operations running by helping users in their system requests (Tier 1-2)
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Work with Finance and Operations leaders to prioritize planned and unplanned development and management projects
Influence other functional areas of the business to achieve business objectives
Qualifications
Experience & education:
Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, finance, or another quantitative-related field
Experience in the corporate travel business
Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational
Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
Ability to work independently and with others
Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
Experience in Oracle or Microsoft SQL (2012+) experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of Citrix, VMs, distributed architecture
Development skills is a plus (Java, .NET frameworks VB.Net, XML/JSON)
Knowledge about Global Distribution System (GDS) data interface file is a plus
Knowledge about Turismatica's TMA and/or Travcom is a plus
Hands-on experience configuring enterprise applications for integration is a strong plus
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Proficient in establishing working relationship with all levels of management & financial executives in the LATAM region
Languages
Spanish-speaking preferred
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs)
Ability lead creation of project related documents in the scope of the responsibility
Proficiency in Project Management methodologies/techniques
Ability to hone analytical skills so that you can take complex data, draw conclusions that are actionable.
