The Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Big Data in our Billing team to help build our next-generation billing system. As a platform team, our system handles the billing for all of Xendit's products. The billing system processes tens of millions of records to generate accurate billing statements for every customer. The ideal candidate for this role would be passionate about tackling complex problems and building scalable and reliable systems using big data solutions.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain our next-generation billing system.
Create and manage ETL data pipelines to optimize the data ingestion and transformation of millions of transactions to prepare for billing.
Ensure our system complies with regulations, given how sensitive financial data are.
Deliver features that are scalable, performant, well-tested, and well-documented.
Perform peer reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Influence the design, planning, and implementation of new features.
Collaborate with product and other engineering teams across the company to build new features at scale.
Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure our systems are up and running always.
Do whatever it takes to make Xendit successful.
You may be a good fit if you have
6+ years of experience developing quality software products and shipping production-ready software.
Fluency in NodeJS and TypeScript.
Hands-on experience with Python.
Expertise in Spark, Databricks, and Airflow
Expertise in Relational and NoSQL database schema design and query optimization.
Experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
Proficiency in Kubernetes, AWS technologies.
Experience with unit, integration, and E2E test frameworks such as jest, mocha, and cucumber.
Exposure to large-scale microservices architectural patterns, such as well-designed REST APIs, circuit breakers, high volume data pipelines.
Communicate well across teams.
