The role
Cardno is currently seeking a Senior Road Designer to join our Civil Engineering team in Manila. Cardno has also embraced 'Work Your Way', which enables flexible working tailored to your individual circumstance through an environment of empowerment and trust.
Your responsibilities will include -
Participate in the delivery of projects and ensure work output is of a technically high standard
Complete moderate to complex design drawings and documentation in accordance with procedures
Develop practical and technical solutions to problems and take necessary action to expedite the successful accomplishment of assigned projects
Recommend improvements to conventional work methods and procedures within an overall program
Works closely with engineer / project manager to obtain project information and ensure drawings are accurate and complete
Lead, guide, supervise and identify opportunities to develop junior drafting staff
Provide technical advice to and co-ordinate inputs of drafting staff
Ensure own drawings comply with design/drafting checklists and are peer reviewed
Review other design staff drawings for quality and accuracy
About you
Ideally you will possess -
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
With at least 8 years of experience in civil engineering particularly roads & highways
Substantial experience in developing the creation of roadway design to a high degree of technical difficulty including intersections, drainage, interchanges and barrier design for greater valued projects
Demonstrated experience in producing detailed road geometric design using software such as OpenRoads and /or 12D, MX.
Experience in interfacing with other disciplines, providing inputs/technical guidance to CAD /draftsmen
Australian work background is highly regarded and preferably Department of Main Roads Western Australia.
Effective oral and written communication skills
