ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for REVIEWING, DESIGNING, and BUILDING test implementations to QA and key Merlot individuals. This includes but is not limited to the creation of manual and/or automated software test design, implementations, deployments and maintenance.
You would also be responsible for testing and delivering high quality solutions for the merlot.aero suite of products in coordination with Merlot's QA process and methodology.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Testing of Merlot Aero Product suite - using automation tools like Robot Framework, Telerik, Selenium, UFT, Appium, Fit/Fitnesse, and/or LoadRunner.
Ensuring that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked and resolved in the defect tracking system.
Guiding and teaching the less experienced quality assurance engineers and developers in quality aspects.
Proactively identifying risks with the testing.
Proactively identify improvement in product development- and quality assurance process.
Manage test environment creation and maintenance, including co-ordinating testing efforts within the team and organizing and prioritizing tests.
Stay current with researching new testing technologies and improving existing solutions.
Delegate testing assignments.
Manage stories in terms of testability and clarity for requirements.
Recommend solutions or work around to defects when appropriate.
ABOUT YOU:
Qualifications
Relevant computer science or the equivalent bachelor's degree
6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance preferably with Automation experience
Skills
Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development process
Proficient in Object-Oriented Programming
Experience in .Net platform and C#, Java, VB Programming language
Knowledge of test processes, methodologies and standards
Strong working knowledge of testing fundamentals such as TDD & BDD
Proficient in writing, executing and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including but not limited to Telerik, Selenium, UFT, Appium, Fit/Fitnesse, and/or LoadRunner.
Knowledgeable working with relational databases such as MS SQL
Knowledgeable in using version control systems like SVN and git
Required
Ability to create clear, concise detail-oriented test plans/cases.
Ability to understand and create test scripts from specifications or verbal communications.
Ability to liaise with development, project management and customer support.
