The Senior Payroll Specialist will undertake all elements of payroll; from inputting data, processing, and payroll reconciliation. The Senior Payroll Specialist have an extensive knowledge of payroll processes and procedures and will assist with providing payroll related advice, guidance and support to all employees and managers. The Senior Payroll Specialist will work with HR Management on payroll related project work and where applicable oversee the Payroll Team.
YOU WILL:
Establish processes that ensures all components of payroll will be accounted for.
Acts as a subject matter expert and/or resource to others in the area of payroll processing.
Reviews, analyzes and verifies payroll reports and documents for accuracy; makes necessary adjustments or corrections through payroll entries or other established procedures.
Recommends or participates in the development of new procedures and policies related to payroll operations; assists coordinate approved changes within payroll processing system; updates affected process documentation.
Acts as liaison with staff and management answering questions, providing alternatives, and facilitating decision-making on anything payroll-related.
Conducts training sessions for new hires, including cascade of laws/ policies/ practice in payroll implemented by local government (where applicable)
Process terminations including reconciliation of time offs and issuance of any government/legislative forms/reports required following termination of employment.
ABOUT YOU:
College Diploma, or certification from Payroll association
2-3 or more years' in a payroll position with supervisory experience
Experience in handling Payroll Systems and HRIS (Workday) is a plus
