The main responsibilities of a Senior Oracle Database Administrator include:
Manage and execute Work Requests and Problems ensuring requests and problems are acknowledged, prioritized, and resolved within agreed SLA timeframes, ensure necessary authorizations are received before completing Work Requests and escalate to management team where necessary.
Ensure adequate space is allocated to all databases; work with the application support teams to optimize database performance and monitor database logs.
Perform backup & recovery of Databases as required.
Execute change requests against the QA and Production environments Approve Change requests as required.
Provide technical advice to all groups.
Establishes and maintains a professional working relationship at multiple levels both internally and with the customer by developing an understanding of the customer's unique business needs and competitive challenges.
Assists meeting of customer service levels by ensuring that any customer's requests for information or support are resolved in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with the IT policy.
Develops own skills through identifying opportunities for training and works to an agreed development plan.
Preparation of business scorecard / reports and share with the IT management how the service meets SLA requirements
Perform other project duties as assigned

To apply for the role, you must have the following:
BS in Computer Science, MIS or related field of study.
Must have at least 5 years of hands-on DB administration experience on at least 2 of various databases such as DB2, MSSQL, Sybase, Informix and Oracle on Unix, Wintel and AS400 platform
Understanding of how to administer Oracle Systems through Oracle Enterprise Manager, Install Oracle, Configure DB Instances, and the User Roles within Oracle.
Good understanding of high availability environments
Subsystem Layouts, and navigation.
Understand the methods of Database Backup and restore, full differential, and log backups, and show practical experience.
Preferably hold a database administrator certification for either Oracle or MS SQL.
Experience in backup, restore & recovery of SQL and Oracle databases and other database types would be advantageous
Exposure to operational environments with good communication & documentation skills.
Experience with DB Cluster Administration preferable.
Should be able to work independently and in a team with minimum supervision.
Analytical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Service oriented behaviour and communication to internal and external contacts
Good communication skills (Communication to customers verbal and written is mandatory)
Language: fluent in English
Oracle Server Specific
It will also be favorable if you have the following:
