Are you a motivated self-starter?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Naval Architect to be assigned to our client, a builder of custom, high performance and efficient aluminum superyachts in Australia. You will have an opportunity to work with experienced construction and design teams and be part of a superyachts project for export to international markets. The role would suit an experienced Naval Architect with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude, and looking to develop their career in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate integrity, attention to detail, and ability to get along with a diverse team.
You will apply naval architect competence to deliver:
Developing yacht design change planning and implementations;
Naval Architectural calculations;
Structural and general engineering design & calculations;
Designing and drafting using 2D and 3D Cad software;
Providing technical support and general consultancy advice; and
Interfacing with and managing various stakeholders including clients, authorities, contractors, suppliers.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture;
Minimum 6 years' experience in engineering, structural and stability calculations in shipbuilding design;
Experience in steel and aluminum vessel design and construction;
Experience with yacht design is an advantage;
Knowledge of regulatory rules & regulations;
Proficiency in the use of 2D and 3D Cad software;
Excellent communication, customer service and stakeholder engagement skills;
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines;
Exceptional team member with a "can do" attitude;
High levels of flexibility and ability to respond to changing priorities and challenges; and
Self-motivated with high level of commitment and initiative.
