We are looking for a Principal Data Engineer who is keen to shape the vision and delivery of data platforms for Macquarie Bank. you'll be responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining our various systems and platforms. You will be a member of a DevOps and agile delivery team with a focus on building amazing enterprise systems in the public cloud. Your work will be focused on delivering high quality outputs for the team and ensuring our delivery meets business and compliance objectives. In all that work the emphasis will be on providing a high performing and stable platform to meet business outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
The Corporate Operations Group brings together specialist support services in Digital Transformation & Data, Technology, Market Operations, Human Resources, Business Services, Business Improvement & Strategy, Brand & Marketing and the Macquarie Group Foundation.
We anticipate that to excel in this role you bring the following experience and technical skills:
Excellent senior stakeholder and relationship management skills
Solid communication skills, able to articulate your thoughts to any audience
Demonstrable ability to break down complex problems and solve them systematically
Understanding of the Australian banking landscape
Understanding of compliance and regulation within the banking industry
Strong risk management experience and capabilities
At least 8 years of experience in business/core banking platforms
Advanced SQL skills with strong experience using Talend ETL toolset and Big Data technologies
Advanced UNIX and Perl scripting skills
Advanced with data quality measurement and monitoring
Advanced knowledge on cloud and containerization technologies
Experience using and building continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tools
Experience in event and stream processing
