Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the data & analytics insights to maximize onboard revenue for nearly $750M annually in onboard revenues for the Celebrity Cruises brand as well as improving guest satisfaction and keeping costs in check. The role oversees all business intelligence, including data and analytics and the management of pricing, reporting and analysis. The position is responsible for developing strategies to enable data-driven decision-making across all of OBR and establish a center of excellence for advanced data analytics and business intelligence (BI). This job is responsible for managing the tools and processes to measure the overall performance and outcomes of various initiatives. Also under this position's purview is the management and strategy of over $400M annually of pre-cruise revenue, onboard F&B pricing and the casino analytics team. Critical to the success of this job is working with the operations and identifying opportunities across the fleet to both maximize profit.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead all Business intelligence and analytics, for the Celebrity Onboard Revenue team
Set direction for business-based data analysts to adopt data strategies, methodologies, processes, reporting tools, and visualization technologies
Oversee all activities regarding onboard revenue and pricing.
Manage team of driven analysts and oversee all recommendations.
Develop business cases in support of these strategies that effectively communicate the value and business relevance to stakeholders.
Establish project plans that outline project milestones regarding process improvements both onboard and shoreside, including forecasting and optimization of existing tools. Ensure that modeling and analytical work in support of other team's initiatives is completed per project plans and timelines. Convene cross-functional teams to deliver projects.
Create and manage effective working relationships with marketing, finance, accounting and operations teams to ensure the most relevant ideas and techniques are implemented.
Lead and own the strategy to drive pre cruise revenue (reporting, targets, growth strategies etc)
Lead all Onboard and Operations integration to the Excalibur Program (systems, database, reporting, new technology (My Celebrity Cruise) and app.
Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reporting.
Identify and quantify opportunities to improve KPIs through information gathering and analysis.
Prepare quantitative and qualitative business cases, evaluating new products, services, or providers.
Develop regular and ad-hoc reporting in order to communicate results to concessionaire partners and hold them accountable for performance.
Prepare fact-based written recommendation to improve financial performance.
Summarize variance investigations and assist in the development of action plans.
Develop and implement benchmark reports for operating groups.
Assists in the development of annual business objectives for specialty restaurants & beverage operations including the data driven modeling to back up and support such objectives.
Utilizes reporting and analytics to make recommendations for the business to increase guest satisfaction, improve revenue or reduce costs.
Evaluates current beverage promotions and marketing programs for effectiveness and recommends new innovative programs to improve revenues and guest and crew satisfaction.
Help identify, measure & implement cost saving initiatives across the hotel organization in order to enable strategic reinvestment back into key areas of the hotel product that the guest values.
Analyze guest ratings & the hotel operation in order to identify opportunities to improve guest satisfaction and reduce the number of detractors.
Assists with developing the capital budget and management of capital project expenses.
Aid in the development of the annual operating & strategic plan update for Celebrity Onboard Revenue.
Qualifications, Knowledge, & Skills:
Four-year Bachelor's degree or four to ten years related financial and business analysis experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of some or all of the following disciplines: Statistical Analysis, Predictive Analysis, Strategic Thinking and Data Modeling
Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of operational personnel.
Strong computer and analytical skills are required.
Demonstrate advanced understanding of analytics, including predictive modeling, Artificial Intelligence, and deep learning
Knowledge of revenue management and demand forecasting.
Ability to assimilate ideas/concepts into data driven models and strategies.
Database and analytical programming skills (including SAS and SQL, etc.)
Project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of the business in order to validate findings and conclusions and ensure data integrity and accuracy at all times
Understanding of database design and information systems, structure, functions and processes, and experience with database tools.
