Job Purpose:
The Senior IT Auditor position will be responsible for evaluating technology and business-related controls for both IT and integrated audits, perform control advisory work, and identifying areas of opportunity for process and control improvements. vide assistance to the external auditors and regulatory auditors while maintaining effective working relationships with internal management. Consults with management and serves on various audit projects as maybe necessary for the business operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for auditing moderately complex areas of information systems audits - performing risk assessments, evaluating internal controls, identifying controls gaps, developing audit observations, recommending solutions.
Perform pre and post- implementation reviews of system implementations or enhancements.
IT security audits (e.g. network, operating system and data center), including evaluating if security vulnerabilities are properly identified and mitigated.
Develop, build & implement tools to analyze data to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.
Identifying the weaknesses in a systems network and creating an action plan.
Perform audit procedures related to IT or operational processes and internal controls testing, including identifying, defining and documenting issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, documenting client processes and procedures using flowcharts and narratives, and working collaboratively with management to identify actions needed.
Conduct data extraction, analysis, and security reviews utilizing software tools.
Communicate or assist in communicating the results of audits and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations to management.
Supervises Junior IT Auditors assigned to engagements providing guidance and overall review of deliverables
Other tasks that may be assigned
Key Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Security
Preferably a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
CPA or CIA is desirable
A minimum of at least 3-4 years of experience working as an IT Auditor
Understanding of key industry control frameworks (NIST Cyber Security Framework, COSO, COBIT, ISO 27000, Unified Compliance Framework, etc.)
Understanding of multiple technology domains including software development, Windows, database management, networking
Comprehensive understanding of internal control environments within the IT function.
