Based in Manila and reporting to the Senior Manager, GSSC Audit and Operations, this role is part of the Global IT audit team and will perform IT audits across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Pacific and Group IT operations. The role will be accountable to the ANZO IT Senior Audit Manager during the performance of audit work and will ultimately support the delivery of the IT Internal Audit (IA) plan which aims to add value and improve QBE's IT control environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Understands the overall Chief Information Officer (CIO) organisation and strategy, and the importance of this role in the support of delivering this strategy
Supports the implementation of the GIA strategy and achievement of the annual audit plan
Contributes to planning of both IT and integrated audits with the assistance of the IT Senior Audit Manager
Assists the engagement manager in planning, scheduling and monitoring performance against the audit plans
Has a working knowledge of relevant IA policies and procedures and comply with these on audit engagements
Makes proposals for improvements so that these can be agreed with managers before implementation
Advanced use of technology i.e. audits and other QBE standard tools to deliver reports
Builds and maintains effective working relationships with management and staff so that their needs can be taken into account
Seeks feedback during audits and respond appropriately so that there is confidence in the audit process
Demonstrates customer service approach so that issues can be dealt with professionally and recommendations be made that are relevant, commercial and sound
Handles different viewpoints professionally, consulting and referring to IA management on complex matters
Ensures ongoing compliance with the QBE IA Charter and preservation of actual and perceived independence
Works collaboratively with the co-source partner, internal 'guest auditors' and subject matter experts to ensure delivery of agreed objectives
Assumes primary responsibility for an agreed area of specialty providing specialist support to the team
Completes medium risk/complex audits so that supervision can be kept to a minimum
Prepares detailed working papers so that work performed is evidenced and issues are appropriately identified
Identifies issues and provides recommendations in the area of assigned work that are relevant, commercial and sound
Drafts clear, factually accurate and concise reports for review by the IT Audit Manager
Keeps up to date on developments in the Division, industry and regulatory environment so that this knowledge can be applied to work
Effectively manages time to ensure that assigned work are delivered on time and is of high quality
Demonstrates good knowledge and understanding of IT technologies and IT Operational standards in the conduct of assigned work
Effectively performing remote audit procedures given that majority of stakeholders are based in other countries
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge
In depth knowledge of an IT process or technology specialist.
Good knowledge of other IT operational processes and technologies, relating to IT Governance, Strategy and Architecture, Application Development and Maintenance, Infrastructure / Service management and Information Security.
Good knowledge of IT audit processes and approaches.
Basic knowledge of IT frameworks including COBIT, ITIL, ISO27001, NIST, etc.
Preferably with experience in auditing large and complex IT environments
Preferably with experience in auditing a variety of different platforms. Examples could include variety of commonly used operating systems, database systems, hosted and cloud based systems.
Data analytics.
