JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Investment Analyst, sit within the Portfolio Strategy team that provides support to the Portfolio Management Group (PMG) within the Global Investments team. More specifically, the role would entail the following:
PMG Portfolio Construction process
• Quarterly update of capital market assumptions used to support the modelling of PMG portfolios
• Support the periodic review of key assumptions and attributes for the strategies in PMG portfolios
• Support the development of assumptions for new investment strategies
• Support the ongoing evolution of the portfolio construction process and development of new portfolio construction content
• Maintain and update key documentation relating to the portfolio construction process and assumptions framework
Jacobi (Multi-Asset Portfolio Construction Platform used by WTW)
• Synthesis of user feedback provided by Regional PMGs on existing/potential new functionality and filtering to the Jacobi Product Owner for prioritisation
• Gathering, understanding and defining user story requirements for new features on and functionality, including those required to implement enhancements to the portfolio construction process
• Working with Jacobi and WTW developers on building and acceptance testing of new functionality
• Implementation of the domain expertise that is being applied by the platform including:
o Maintenance and updating/management of simulation sets
o Creation/maintenance and updating of asset classes and strategies
o Creation/maintenance of portfolio construction “lenses” and weightings for different investor types
• Provision of ‘Tier 2’ level of technical support where issues cannot be resolved by Regional subject matter experts
• Training of Regional PMG and other colleagues using Jacobi
Performance Objectives
• Clients – take ownership of outputs and deliverables and build strong relationships with other teams
• Financial/Business KPIs – accurate and timely submission of time and expense reports; monitor revenue and billed hours
• People – build strong relationships across various teams and support colleagues to create a good working environment
• Operational Excellence and Innovation – implement Operational Excellence in all programs and adhere to client, local and international compliance requirements
JOB QUALIFICATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance or equivalent; with at least three years of relevant work experience
• Good organisation and time management skills, with a proven ability to handle a variety of assignments and meet tight deadlines
• Strong technical and analytical skills, ideally with a sound understanding of assumption-setting processes and asset modelling
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Experience with the portfolio construction process and associated frameworks is an advantage
• Proven effective oral and written communication skills in business English
• Ability to work on own initiative when required, as well as in a team
• Confidence to liaise and work with people at all levels in a variety of roles, locations and functions
• Detail and results orientated, with a logical and analytical method of working
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook, and an interest in enhancing these skills
• Desire to work in the investment industry
