RESPONSIBILITIES:
ER Claim Investigation and Counseling - Obtain information regarding any complaints, or claims received; make recommendations to management regarding action to be taken resolve issue; counsel employees concerning employee relations issues ensuring established corporate and departmental policies are adhere to; advise management staff on proper methods of handling employee relations issues ensuring a complete and thorough understanding of policies; know and support corporate and departmental policies regarding employee relations issues; review all employee counseling and separation documentation for compliance with policies and procedures; properly interpret, communicate and gain acceptance of corporate and departmental policies and procedures by employees and management staff
Training - Professionally conduct all staff development training relating to general management development, staff skill development, employee relations topics; recommend classes to be offered based on overall needs of the organization
File Maintenance - Maintain all Employee Relations files with any responses, correspondence, supporting documentation, etc., in an organized manner ensuring files are updated on a continuous basis
Exit Interviews - Conduct all exit interviews for separated employees; follow established interview format ensuring proper documentation of information
Risk Management Functions - Ensure employee awareness of safety issues according to established departmental procedures and regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Incumbents will be expected to master the following knowledge, skills, and abilities
Generalist background in Human Resources
Federal and state agencies involved in resolving employee relations issues
Principles and practices of customer service
Report preparation methods
Corporate and departmental policies and procedures
Federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations relating to employee relations issues
Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Manage multiple, concurrent tasks
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions
Organize and maintain appropriate files and records
Investigate and track Worker's Compensation claims (if assigned)
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree , Professional License (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam), any field.
At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Preferably 1-4 Yrs Experienced Employees specializing in Human Resources or equivalent.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major work in business administration, human resources management, or related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience
Minimum three years Human Resources experience required, preferably including employee relations. Previous experience dealing with management from first line supervisors through middle managers.
