Manulife's Finance Operations is seeking for an individual, who is obsessed with delivering value, is forward-thinking, andis primarilyresponsible for reviewing of regulatory reports for the Mutual Funds (Management Report of Fund Performance , Quarterly Summary of Investment Portfolio, Fund Facts, etc.) as well as expense management and invoice payments. The incumbent will require knowledge of accounting and regulatory requirements for investments funds.
The Senior Financial Analyst will also assist in the design of controls to improve the risk management framework, enhance documentation, and assess an optimal production processes related to the Investment Fund Governance team and participate in adhoc projects, as assigned.

We are looking for someone with:
5+ years' experience in accounting
CPA accounting designation
Knowledgeable of the Investment industry and financial products
Capacity to write reports on technical issues and to present to management
Easily work with the Office Suite with an advanced proficiency in Excel
Knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and National Instrument 81-106 Investment Fund Continuous Disclosure, considered an asset
Experience with fund accounting and reporting systems considered an asset (e.g. MPower, Fund Suite Arc)
On the job you will:
Review and process diligently Funds invoices payment following GWAM guidelines and leading practices
Prepare and analyze the quarterly summary of portfolio investments for Mutual Funds including supporting documents within deadlines as well as participate in the production and review of the annual and interim Management Report of Fund Performance
Calculate and monitor Management Expense Ratio (MER) on a monthly basis
Support Manulife funds initiatives acting as a trusted partner ensuring planning and execution of the Funds' Launches, mergers and closure run smoothly
Develop, document and review internal control policies and procedures
Provide recommendations on efficiencies, standards and improvements related to financial processes and/or systems
Continue to develop knowledge of control frameworks, risk management practices and regulatory requirements
Stay informed with the latest accounting/regulatory requirements for investment funds
Participate in team projects and committees, as assigned
