Job Description Role Overview: As a member of the US FSSC, this position will report to the Director, Financial Processes & Controls, and play a key role in supporting various, mission critical, production related systems and processes, coordination of the quarterly close calendar process and participate in process improvement initiatives impacting US Finance. The position provides a challenging opportunityto learnmore about variousUS Segmentbusinesses, gain an understanding of operating environments, play an integral role in process improvement, and work withseasoned professionalsofaccounting, actuarial, and ITbackgrounds. Key Responsibilities: Support various applications to ensure operating processes are delivered effectively and efficiently Provide training sessions to onboard new users of applications Coordinate quarterly close calendar including maintaining documentation and server requirements Review administration system accounting to general ledger postings to ensure completeness and accuracy Work with users and Group IT to revolve errors in accounting activity Work with finance colleagues to develop and customize Power BI reports Participate actively in process improvement initiatives by understanding and analyzing business needs Maintain strong process documentation Identifyprocess streamlining and automation opportunities, andinfluenceactions toimplement Provide technical and user support of proprietary database applications Qualifications: Undergraduate degree concentrating in Accounting; CPA is an advantage 4+ years of accounting, preferably in life insurance Knowledge ofaccounting/ledger systems, tools Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage and organize priorities, troubleshoot, use judgment, and deliver timely and quality results Strong professional judgment, accountability,customer service,and eye for efficiency improvements Excellentwritten and oral communication skillsand analytical and problem-solving skills Ability towork both independently andcollaborate withinternationalteam membersand colleagues Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications quickly Self-starter with intellectual curiosity with a focus on independently learning new software applications and processes with a focus on improvement Amenable to work on a Night Shift If you are ready to unleash your potential, it's time to start your career with Manulife/John Hancock.
