Why work at Athena?
Flexibility. We work 100% remotely. Be able to work from anywhere!
Make an impact. All our clients are doing amazing work in their respective fields. Be the constant driving force that helps your clients achieve more.
Supportive community. Our internal team of trainers and mentors are on hand to build you up for success in your EA journey.
Wealth of knowledge. Learn from the best by gaining an insider perspective of the inner workings of a C-level executive.
Responsibilities:
Inbox management - Draft messages on behalf of the client, screen and filter messages, and classify messages based on priority level and urgency
Social media management - Build and manage the company's social media profiles and presence, create and curate brand content, explore new ways to engage new social networks, and contribute to social media projects
Calendar management - Arrange work meetings and personal appointments, research on meeting attendees, send reminders for important events and ensure the client's calendar is up to date with last-minute changes
Travel management - Book flights, arrange accommodations and transportation, research restaurant options and nearby activities, and create custom Google maps
Execute a wide variety of ad hoc tasks - Contacts management, reports generation, database management, and research
Qualities:
Anticipate everything - The SEA has their eyes set on the bigger picture for their executive; coffee or lunch before a meeting, email that personal response to a client, or whatever - s/he's already locked on the need and addressed it. They don't just take direction, they're already moving on where the executive wants to go.
They know their executive - The SEA is like an extension of their executive's brain. S/he knows their preferences, the tone of their emails, and even the gifts that they would send their friends or loved ones. They know when certain meetings need time for preparation and others that their executive can just jump on. They will gather and soak all of this information even before their first meeting and proactively keep on learning.
Practice good judgment - An SEA will make sure that their executive is not inundated and want to keep them at the highest level. They make sure that they are not overcommitted - even if they do not think so. They are confident in making good judgment calls and being proactive in suggesting ways on how to make things better. They are not afraid to discuss the pros and cons of certain scenarios and take pride in providing that direction for their executive.
Confident / Assertive - They independently seek the WHYs. They are not afraid to ask questions and challenge the norm to optimize and make the situation better. They are also conscientious and principled, holding firm to his/her beliefs and are not swayed by changing circumstances.
Eager to learn but also eager to teach - The best don't just keep everything to themselves. They make sure to share their knowledge to scale their success and, in turn, the executive that they are supporting. They've managed and taught organizations at scale.
Feedback-driven - Hungry to receive, and provide, feedback in order to bring their performance to the next level.
Self-aware - An SEA takes accountability for their mistakes. They immediately bounce back (i.e. don't give up easily), and they see to it that they don't commit the same mistake twice. They are able to recognize areas where they need to improve on.
