Your future duties and responsibilities: . Participate in change management processes including deployment of application and project initiated database changes in all environments as requested, following client change management standards and procedures. . Perform daily maintenance including monitoring backups, managing disk space, and maintaining database objects. . Perform database installations, upgrades, migrations, and patching. . Monitor and tune database performance. . Proactively monitor, maintain, and enhance existing systems to increase functionality and optimize performance. . Assist clients with disaster recovery exercises. . Maintain client documentation including database topology, connection procedures, and special instructions. . Adhere to proven development practices and software development life cycle methodologies throughout the product development phase. . Participate in on-call rotation and occasionally work after hours or on weekends. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . Minimum 7 years of experience as a database administrator. . Experience with a number of database platforms including Oracle and MSSQL. . Demonstrated ability to determine how existing applications, legacy systems, databases, web interfaces, and hardware logic (possibly running on multiple platforms) integrate to meet new and emerging enterprise requirements. . Demonstrated ability to translate requirements to design, architect, and document systems, and write code that is stable, reusable, scalable, and elegant. Demonstrated experience with: . High availability/Disaster recovery solutions Oracle Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, etc. . Replication tools including SSIS, etc. . Cloning and refreshing databases. . Knowledge of Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Oracle) is an asset. . Quickly understands new ideas and can see the value in new features or technologies. . Confident good interpersonal, communication (both oral and written), and client-facing skills. . Committed to excellent customer service. Desirable Qualifications: . Ability to advise clients in a hybrid environment such as on-premise and cloud. Education Qualifications: .
