Ensures assigned purchase orders are processed with proper terms & conditions and within policy & procedures
Responsible to the Purchasing Manager for the procurement of supplies and/or equipment for all departments and stores
Receives and interviews vendor representatives to keep abreast of developments, negotiate prices, service, quality or other matters
In conjunction with the Purchasing Manager, develops and investigates new sources of supply, makes recommendations as to their approval
Maintains effective liaison with all departments to present alternatives offered by suppliers, modification of design, standardization of parts or material, or other matters of mutual concern
Works from/with Administration requests for components for new programs
Obtains quotes, negotiates with vendors, sources items with vendors, follows and expedites delivery
Creates, maintains updated product/vendor information
Assists departments in defining purchasing needs and resolving associated problems
Acts as back-up in the absence of the Purchasing Manager
Education - College graduate
Experience - At least 3 years in purchasing
Knowledge -- Laws on purchasing
