Our client is a U.S. Manufacturer of load cells, torque sensors, pressure sensors, multi-axis sensors and related instruments and software. Located in Southern California, our client has built a reputation as a quality provider of test and measurement tools. Specializing in the research and development of these advanced sensing devices, the products are used in many industry applications, such as medical, aerospace, automotive and automation robotics
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a critical role in driving our company's success by ensuring efficient purchasing of material (production and non-production) and services.
Requirements
Procure required materials, supplies, and services, ensuring on-time delivery at the lowest total cost as well as best contractual terms and minimizing inventory investment.
Develop and maintain partnerships with vendors both approved and potential future.
Maintain and administer a formal feedback system on vendor performance.
Efficiently manage ERP requisitions and maintain accurate item-related data in ERP systems for improved planning communication.
Proactively follow up and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery, providing prompt status updates on critical orders and requests.
Facilitate the Certified qualification of vendors to meet ISO90001-2008 or required quality standards.
Maintain close relationships with key suppliers to obtain favorable pricing and lead time of deliverables.
Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement with overall business objectives.
Collaborate and facilitate any technical communication with vendors to ensure effective communication and guarantee alignment with all vendor partnerships.
Skills / Qualifications:
● At least 5 years of relevant experience
● Excellent communication skills, fluent in English, both verbal and written.
● In-depth knowledge of purchasing procedures/practices in a manufacturing environment.
● Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
● Proven problem-solving skills.
● Basic mechanical understanding for company-to-vendor document interpretation.
● Self-starter with the ability to work independent.
● Persuasive communication and negotiation abilities.
● Strong attention to detail
Must have a baseline understanding of mechanical concepts (understand how to read blueprints or engineering drawings).
Highly Advantageous:
● Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
● Experience working in a high mix, low volume environment
● Knowledgeable with Oracle
