Business Analyst (Senior):
The role will be part of an offshore research team for a global investment banking client. The team provides evidence based research to client equity analysts to understand investment debates.
Data gathered will be analyzed, triangulated and presented. Parts of the output will be included in the client's research publications.
Although the person's main focus will be a mix of data analytics and project/client/people management they may also be asked to do other tasks depending on the direction of the client.
Role and Responsibilities:
Understands the client objective and manages client expectations on projects along with the respective squad
Conducts analytics on big data to gain insight into investment debates
Runs regular data checks and analysis updates using automated logics
Presents data-driven analysis and findings internally and to client
Takes ownership in project planning and coordinates with teams on full implementation and timely delivery of squad assignments
Manages squad members and is responsible for their professional development
Updates documentation during the life of the project
Takes on ad hoc tasks when needed
Guide junior individuals on critical thinking and data exploration
Background:
Graduate with a degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent
At least 5 years experience in handling big data or working on data research/analytics
At least 3 years experience using Python
At least 5 years experience in managing projects and their delivery
At least 3 years experience in people management
At least 3 years experience in client management
Experience in dealing with international clients is a plus
Experience working with or for an investment bank is a plus
Skills needed:
Very strong data analytics, working with both structured and unstructured data
Strong Python programming skills
Good financial research skills
Basic knowledge in data visualization such as Qlikview or Tableau is a plus
Ability to think outside the box and critically is a must
Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize complexity
Excellent people management skills
Experience in communicating with investment banking clients is a plus
Strong Excel skills
Self-starter and fast learner, thinking beyond the requirements, creative
