Our customers range from government to startups, and our tech gets used everywhere from policy to product.JOB SUMMARY:We're looking for a Senior Bubble Engineer (Bubble-certified and deeply hands-on) to own and evolve our core web application. You'll work across the full Bubble stack - from database and workflows to privacy rules, APIs, and performance - working directly with the founders and product team.You'll collaborate closely with a distributed team of four colleagues in the Philippines (including two senior Bubble developers), and with Australian-based AI engineers who fine-tune and orchestrate LLMs through our owned monorepo in Python. This is a role for someone who loves turning ambiguity into action; who can balance velocity with quality; and who is comfortable diving into both product and platform.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Own features end-to-end in Bubble: data modelling, reusable components, conditions/custom states, backend workflows, privacy rules, and responsive UI.Integrate and harden external services: build and maintain API Connector calls, webhooks, OAuth2 flows, rate limiting,retries, and error handling.Performance & reliability: profile pages and workflows, reduce load times, eliminate race conditions, improve capacity planning, and set up observability/alerts.Quality at speed: write pragmatic tests, manage Bubble versioning/branching, and run reliable releases with rollback and release notes.Security & data hygiene: maintain correct privacy rules; handle PII thoughtfully (audit logs, access controls, data retention).Collaborate with AI engineering team: design interfaces with our Python LLM orchestration (e.g., FastAPI-style endpoints, job queues, callbacks), review contracts, and ship small Python changes when helpful.Extend functionality with JavaScript: create lightweight plugins, embed custom widgets, and optimise for user experience beyond Bubble's native capabilities.Shape the product: turn frontline insight into clear specs, tradeoffs, and roadmap proposals; pair with opinions on design and usability.Raise the bar: document patterns, create internal tooling, and mentor teammates on Bubble best practices.RequirementsSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Expert-level Bubble experience building complex, production apps(please share examples). You know the platform's strengths and edge cases.Bubble certification (Advanced/Professional) or demonstrably equivalent experience.Full-stack Bubble mastery: database design, backend workflows, APIConnector, security/privacy rules, conditional logic, reusable elements, and responsive engine.API fluency: REST concepts, auth (OAuth2, JWT), pagination, webhooks,and schema-first thinking.Performance instincts and product judgement: you can measure, reason about, and improve workflow and page performance, and translate messy requirements into simple, effective flows.Startup energy: high agency, clear communication, collaboration, and comfort with a fast-changing environment.
