SENIOR BACKEND ENGINEER
Responsibilities
API Architecture & Development: Design, build and maintain scalable, high-performance APIs using Node.js, ensuring they align with product goals and user needs
AWS Infrastructure Integration: Architect and implement cloud-native solutions by deeply integrating AWS services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS and SNS to build resilient and asynchronous systems
Performance Optimization: Proactively identify system bottlenecks and optimize for low latency and high availability, utilizing metrics to drive technical decisions
Product-Led Engineering: Collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, focusing on delivering maximum value to the end-user
Technical Leadership: Maintain high standards for code quality through rigorous code reviews, automated testing and comprehensive documentation, mentoring junior members where necessary
Qualifications
 
Minimum Requirements
Advanced Node.js Expertise: Proven professional experience in backend development using Node.js, with a deep understanding of asynchronous programming and server-side logic
Hands-on AWS Experience: Demonstrated experience building and deploying production-grade applications using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and SNS
Project Articulation: Ability to clearly walk through past architectural decisions, including specific API frameworks used and the rationale behind choosing certain AWS services
Practical Problem-Solving: A solid track record of delivering stable backend systems, with the ability to provide clear examples of how you handled complex integration challenges
Preferred Experience
Product-Led Background: Experience working in a product-driven environment where engineering decisions are guided by user impact and business outcomes
Optimization Metrics: Proven ability to deliver measurable results, such as reducing API response times, improving system throughput or optimizing AWS cost efficiency
Distributed Systems: Experience with event-driven architectures, microservices and handling high-concurrency environments
Senior-Level Ownership: A proactive mindset with the ability to take full ownership of the backend lifecycle, from initial design to production monitoring
