Position Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS DevOps Systems Engineer to join our client's IT Operations Team based. This is a permanent role to help maintain and support the current systems environment, and help deliver some key business projects. The team provides essential IT services to the business to ensure key systems and applications are enabling the business to achieve great outcomes for the company's customers. You will join a team of technical specialists to expand the company's capacity in AWS DevOps.
This role will be collaborating closely with the software development team to help automate and manage the application deployment & systems management processes which support our line of business applications.
Key Responsibilities
Support the automation of systems management and application deployment processes
Ensure AWS environment meets business requirements for reliability and is running efficiently
Collaborate with the team on support of production environment and ensure incidents are resolved as quickly as possible
Essential Skills & Experience
At least 10 years enterprise systems management experience
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related disciplines
Windows Server and Linux Systems Management in a business critical, enterprise environment
At least 5 years experience in management of complex enterprise applications and services within an AWS public cloud environment
Web Server Management - Linux (Apache), Windows (IIS/.Net)
Docker Containers - AWS ECS & Fargate
Application Load Balancer Setup and Administration
Contemporary DevOps Tools & Practices - Ansible, AWS Cloud Formation, AWS CDK
Experience with continuous deployment tools in agile dev environments - Jenkins and AWS Code management tools (CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDelpoy)
Experience in working closely with software development teams to support the automation of deployment processes
Excellent Scripting Ability - Python, Bash, Powershell, JavaScript/TypeScript (CDK)
Systems & Network security - server hardening, endpoint security, vulnerability management, risk management
Proactive approach to systems management and support
Excellent technical and problem solving skills
Very high standard of oral and written communication
Mentoring of junior team members
Knowledge of ITIL service management practices
Additional Relevant Skills & Experience
IT Systems management in a Financial Services environment
Database Administration - Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, Mongo
Networking - switching and routing, load balancers
Exposure to Network & Web Application Firewalls
Logging consolidation technology - Logstash, Fluent, Elasticsearch, Kibana
IMPORTANT NOTE:

PC/Laptop with atleast Core i7 (quad core), 16gb minimum, 256gb SSD minimum, Windows 10 Pro 64bit.
10mbps minimum internet speed.
