What You Will Do:
Execute on the assurance and advisory strategy over Skillz' financial, operational, and compliance risks, including evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls within established audit plan timelines
Partner with, build relationships, and manage horizontally across the Revenue, Product, and Operations organizations to optimize internal audit's effectiveness in enhancing company's governance, risk, and controls
Perform testing over the design and operating effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting for ITGCs and ITACs
Identify, evaluate, and monitor the remediation of IT operational audit engagement findings and SOX control deficiencies
Serve as the everyday lead point person for horizontal Revenue, Product, and Operations organization peers and collaboration with external auditors
Assist in the implementation and rollout of governance, risk, and control software
Contribute to the ongoing development of the internal audit department infrastructure, including methodology and policies and procedures
Be future-focused on continuous improvement of the department along the internal audit maturity curve
Your Skillz:
3-6 years of work experience scaling internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, preferably in or servicing the technology or interactive media industry
1+ year of management experience leading teams
Public accounting/audit experience
Bachelor's degree, preferably in an accounting or computer science field
Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CIA, CISA) is preferred but not required
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
