SUMMARY:
Responsible for monthly/quarterly/annual capital and expense project reporting. Coordinates annual project budgetary process with direction from Product and Business. Performs project forecasting. Creates and assists in training partners on standard forecasting process to apply across all Capital Markets projects. Performs operations, technical or administration work often in support of professional roles. Requires technical or other specific training or equivalent experience. Performs tasks and duties according to established procedures. Requires full proficiency gained through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience to perform a range of tasks. Takes a broad perspective to problems and spots new, less obvious solutions. Identifies key issues and patterns from partial/conflicting data. Completes work with a limited degree of supervision. Likely to act as an informal resource for colleague with less experience.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Creates monthly/quarterly/annual reports for Capital and Expense projects
Analyzes monthly changes in actual and forecasted project costs. Determines the narrative to be included as part of project reporting
With limited supervision, develops guidelines for project forecasting and randomly audits project forecasts for adherence to guidelines.
Provides support on certain project forecasting as outlined by manager
Learns and determines the best tools to use in order to build and display reports
Assists in annual planning which includes, but not limited to, supporting the business unit for the preparation, timeliness and integrity of the annual budget and proactively providing sound and valuable recommendations to stakeholders that would impact key business decisions
Builds network of other partners in like roles as well as partners that contribute to the overall capital and expense project financial cycle
Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on practice and existing precedents or procedures
Impacts the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the team; uses discretion to modify work practices and processes to achieve results or improve efficiency
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Analytical and problem solving skills required to evaluate financial results and projections
Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary to present relevant information to senior management and business unit officers
Strong personal computer skills (Excel, PowerBI, Word and PowerPoint) are required to perform analyses and communicate financial information
Requires broad understanding of the job and applies skills and knowledge in a range of processes, procedures and systems or requires deep skills in one area
Knowledge of accounting, reporting and financial analysis usually acquired through an advanced degree program or related work experience is required
Understands how the team integrates with others to accomplish team objectives
Explains detailed and/or complicated information within the team
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
At least 4 years of work experience, with at least 2 years of experience on project analysis and management reporting, planning, and analysis
