The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in overseeing financial activities and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. They are responsible for managing accounting processes, preparing financial reports, and providing guidance on financial matters to the management team.
Key Responsibilities:
-Supervise and oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
-Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
-Conduct month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and accruals.
-Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.
-Monitor cash flow, budget variances, and financial performance metrics.
-Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities during audits and compliance reviews.
-Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
-Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
-Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance and adherence to best practices.
-Assist in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Finance Manager or CFO.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
2. Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
3. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
4. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
