Job Description
What will a normal day look like?
The Senior Accountant will play an important part in the ability of the organization to realize its financial objectives by effectively and efficiently recording the financial operations of the organization. Key challenges will include regularly maintaining accounting processes and systems for the business requiring the role to have a strong knowledge in financial accounting and skills in accounting systems (e.g. QuickBooks).
As well as maintaining accurate accounting records, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for compliance to regulatory bodies' requirements such as filing and payment of taxes and licenses to BIR, submission of reports and other requirements to SEC, and PEZA , remittances of contributions to SSS, HDMF, PHIC.
Responsibilities:
a. Financial Statements Preparation
Ensures accuracy of all entries in the Accounting System;
Prepares necessary adjusting Journal Entries.
b. Financial Records
Prepares monthly Bank Reconciliation;
Maintains Subsidiary Ledgers of all accounts;
Maintains monthly accounts receivable schedule;
Maintains accounts payable schedule;
Maintains lapsing schedule of PPE; and
Prepares schedule of other Balance Sheet accounts
Ensures proper charging of Direct Costs and Overheads to Cost Centers.
c. Management Reports
Prepares daily Cash Position;
Prepares monthly schedule for billing;
Prepares fully loaded cost of all employees for submission to head office;
Prepares other accounting reports and schedules as required.
d. Regulatory bodies requirements
BIR - Quarterly / Annual Income Tax, Withholding Tax, VAT, FBT
PEZA - EZMPR, TIMTA, Others
SEC - AFS, GIS, Security Deposit
LGU - Business Permit, Quarterly / Annual Tax
BOC - Permit, Accreditation
Qualifications
Bachelor's / College Degree in Accountancy
Certified Public Accountant
3 to 5 years relevant experience
Payroll experience, preferred
Amenable to work in Mall of Asia Business Complex
Familiar in government agencies requirements
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Knowledge in QuickBooks Accounting Software
Good communication skills - both written and verbal
Ability to cope with tight deadlines
Can work independently or with minimal supervision
