Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation of Management Accounts, Financial
Statements and Tax Returns as well as end to end general accounting tasks.
Job Description:
Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns and business activity statements for Australian SME clients (Company, Trust, Partnerships & Sole Trader)
Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS), Installment Activity Statements (IAS) & client payroll tax reports
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare management accounts
Preparation of workpapers and accounts to deal with Division 7A loans, Capital Gain events and Fringe Benefits Tax (including employee contributions)
Provide advice and develop strategies to assist our clients that have complicated structures of many entities, including discretionary and fixed trusts
Maintain up to date knowledge of Australian taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Tax; CPA preferred
Minimum 5 years experience in Australian accounting and taxation
Extensive experience in the preparation of Australian income tax returns for Company, Trust, Partnerships & Sole Trader
Sound technical knowledge, has willingness to learn; responsible, reliable, flexible
Has proactive approach to business and technology
Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with APS or any related software (not particularly required)
Should be capable of leadership
