Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee the financial operations of a leading digital publishing company in the United States. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in both financial accounting and FP&A, with a strong desire to grow their career within our dynamic and forward-thinking company. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in financial planning, budget management, and corporate internal controls while also being tasked with building and leading a team of accountants, collection personnel, and FP&A analysts.

Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping and management of daily financial transactions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash, Payroll, 401k management.
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, including deferred revenue and unbilled AR and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
Spearhead continuous process improvements related to improve efficiency and internal control.
Work with external audit and tax team and stay on top of applicable compliance changes (GAAP or tax laws).
Forecast, monitor and manage cash flow.
Prepare and analyze financial statements.
Analyze and explain budget variances and discrepancies. Provide recommendations.
Assist in creating and managing budgets, as well as forecasting financial statements.
Assist with business operations including maintaining contract records, insurance renewals, etc.
Complete other ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in accounting, Master's Degree is a plus
● 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with US Companies
● Advanced excel skills and experience with data analytics or business intelligence tools (eg, Power BI).
● Ability to self-start, roll-up the sleeves and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
● Massive attention to detail with extreme follow-through, urgency, and commitment to deadlines.
● Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or progress towards CPA (preferred)
