What is the job?
The Senior Accountant is responsible for responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounting processes, and ensuring compliance within our venture capital/private equity firm.
Maintain accurate venture-level books and records in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Track and update capital accounts, including capital calls, dilution calculations, and reconciliations on a quarterly basis.
Produce capital calls for investors and perform dilution calculations and entity-related adjustments.
Maintain and update waterfalls, promote calculations, and manage Mosser to MCM loan calculations and tracking.
Coordinate with internal teams on warehouse line or working capital facilities, including interest charges and cash advances.
Participate in Accounting/IMG Calls to track and resolve global accounting/reporting issues.
Oversee cash flows and cash needs of various partnerships.
Ensure compliance with INREV, GRESB, and Investor Data template requirements.
Clean up internal financial reporting and deliver key financial reports to senior management.
Oversee variance reporting, maintain reporting deadlines, and track budget vs. actual issues.
Accurately track available capital amounts in existing ventures and forecast capital needs and timing of capital calls/loan drawdowns.
Work with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payment of bills.
Prepare monthly cash forecasts and project 6-month forward capital flows based on performance trends.
Create reporting calendars for each JV and manage reporting processes to LPs and lenders.
Facilitate automation of reporting and integration of reporting requirements of LPs.
Oversee KYC compliance and regulatory filings.
Track deadlines for tax filings, audit reports, and distribution of annual K-1s and tax-related documents.
Ensure compliance with REIT maintenance and regulatory requirements.
What you bring to the job?
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in fund accounting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to the financial services industry, including tax regulations, compliance standards, and REIT maintenance.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately track and analyze financial data, perform reconciliations, and identify discrepancies.
Meticulous attention to detail for maintaining accurate financial records, producing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Clear and coherent in both written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, interact with investors and lenders, and communicate financial information to senior management.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
