Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will work across the business to carry out the following responsibilities:
Perform daily bank reconciliation ensuring transactions are properly reconciled
Supervise general accounting transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
Responsible for timely and accurate client invoicing
Ensure accurate and timely postings of all journal entries, compliant with applicable standards and policies
Perform accruals and prepayments calculations
Handle the payroll processing of employees
Preparation of complete month and annual financial reports
End-to-End Accounting Process
Assist in the preparation of Job Management Reporting & Insights
Managing Sales and Cashflow forecasting
Perform Cost Management & Analysis
Assist to develop and drive process improvement strategies within and across the business
Communicate effectively with the owner and other relevant parties in both written and verbal
Constant review of the accuracy of data being delivered, eliminating the risk of any financial impact which was unforeseen
Ensuring Accounting standards and policies are adhered to
Formulate SOPs and develop systems in-house to maintain the quality and timeliness of output
Create a culture that fosters innovation, promotes inclusivity, and inspires growth
Such other duties may be required to be undertaken from time to time to ensure smooth operation and continued growth.
Requirements
The Senior Accountant role requires:
Education/Licenses/Credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any related course
Must be a CPA
Non-CPAs with related job experience are welcome to apply
Experience
Must have experience in dealing with NZ and AU clients.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a financial/management accounting position
Must be highly proficient in Xero and WorkflowMax
Demonstrates a high level of understanding in all areas of the finance and accounting function
Can conduct financial analysis to identify trends and anomalies
Previous experience on applications such as Salesforce, Hubdoc, Slack and ClickUp
Knowledgeable with NZ & AU Tax Laws and with the preparation of tax returns
Special Knowledge/Skills/Personality Traits
Strong command of MS Tools
Confidence to deal with a range of stakeholders both internal and external.
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Takes ownership of and personal accountability for decisions and actions; can seek guidance and advice when needed
Excellent project management
Highly adaptable and willing to learn how to use other task management and productivity applications
Able to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Must be a strong team player, passionate, and highly motivated
Can start ASAP
