What is the job?
Responsible for the following
The Senior Accountant 2 is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial operations. This position involves performing a wide array of accounting tasks, including reconciliations, financial analysis, journal entries, and supporting external audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both public and private accounting, with a keen understanding of US GAAP and experience in project management within finance settings.
Job Description:
Perform monthly account reconciliations and closing procedures to ensure accurate financial close.
Assist in preparation of quarterly reforecasts and annual budgets.
Assist with monthly financial operations review, analyze results as compared to budget and explain variances.
Prepare customer invoices and ensure accuracy of employee timecard entries.
Prepare and enter general ledger journal entries on a monthly basis
Support external audit by preparing reports, workpapers, and providing supporting evidence.
Researching accounting guidance to ensure compliance with accounting standards
Assist in the creation and maintenance of KPI dashboards to monitor and report on critical financial and operating metrics.
Create and maintain KPI dashboards to monitor and report on critical financial and operating metrics.
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls across Cedar companies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
Assist in budget tracking, variance analysis, and providing insights into financial performance.
Key contributor in major finance team projects across Cedar (e.g. system migrations, streamlining processes/controls, compliance with new accounting guidance, KPI tracking, etc.)
Key contributor in implementation and maintenance of consistent accounting policies and procedures across portfolio companies
Assist with annual audit and tax engagements and undertake ad-hoc accounting projects as required.
What you bring to the job?
Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience
Comfortable in working with US-based client
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Proficient in MS Office especially MS Excel (can use Excel basic functions such as simple formulas and produce accounting reports)
Ability to work remotely
Good tenure with previous companies (stays with companies for at least a year)
