Position : Senior Accountant
Work Hours : Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM EST (40 hrs/5 days a week) / 9 PM - 5 AM Philippine Time
Pay Range : 1,000 - 1,600 USD / month
Our client is an established small business with more than 11 years of history, producing and distributing products to bring comfort and joy to children with chronic and rare diseases around the world. In this role, you'd be joining us full time to help administer our finances and internal and external reporting.
They are a small team, with a very diverse range of operations. They manufacture products for single, bulk purchases from our partners; They manage an e-commerce business on Shopify and Amazon-US and Amazon-JP, as well as with wholesale distribution to commercial partners; They do specialized design and consulting to clients in the US and Europe.
Our client is currently looking for an Experienced Senior Accountant to join the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Accounts payable
Data entry and coding bills to projects in Bill.com.
Processing approved payables.
● Accounts receivable
Creating client summaries and scope of work tables.
Collaborating with project managers to generate client invoices.
Preparing statements for open receivables.
● International accounting
Managing HST account, preparing returns, and payments for CRA.
Compiling statements for Japan Consumptive Tax (JCT) partner.
● Month-End/Quarter-End Tasks
Assisting Controller with reconciliations and ratio analysis.
Updating financial models with Treasurer and CEO.
Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations including inventory.
Preparing quarterly reports for the Board.
● Compliance and Reporting
Handling audit, financials, and vendor onboarding requests.
Managing sales tax licenses in 20+ US states.
Filing and communication with US state tax departments.
● Year-End and Taxation
Coordinating with external accountants for federal tax returns.
Tracking state and federal corporate tax payments.
● Sales and Performance Reporting
Weekly e-commerce sales and advertising reports (Amazon, Shopify).
Quarterly Royalty Reports for licensed product sales.
Monthly wholesale commission reports.
Requirements
Proven 5 years of experience in similar role of financial management and reporting
Expert knowledge of accounting software - Xero
Excellent understanding of budget forecasting and financial reporting
Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel to create templates, summaries with
functions such as VLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX, etc, and Pivot Table reports
Excellent written and verbal skills in English (Level B2+)
Strong attention to detail, a habit of double-checking your own work, and analytical
skills
Excellent understanding of data analysis, budget forecasting, and financial reporting
Prior experience working with a US company, with US sales tax and federal reporting is a must.
Experience with R&D tax credit reporting is an asset but not required.
Prior experience working with the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) or Japan
Consumption Tax (JCT) or other international tax body is a great asset but not required
