SpiderLabs is the advanced security team responsible for security research, application security, incident response, penetration testing for Trustwave's clients. In addition, SpiderLabs performs 3rd party security reviews and intelligence for Trustwave's products and provides and security thought leadership to the entire organization. Security Researcher - Email Security and Malware Analysis
The Security Researcher will be a key team member of the Email Security and Malware Analysis Team, will work from Trustwave's office in Manila, and will be responsible for:
Analyzing spam and phishing emails
Developing and releasing updated rules and content for Trustwave's products
Analyzing and reverse engineering malware
Monitoring general internet security issues and the wider threat landscape
Researching and producing written reports, analyses, blogs, and commentary on threats and trends.
Developing and maintaining the team's systems and tools
Development and use of machine learning systems to aid detection of threats
Requirements
You may have existing computer security experience. Or you may have a programming background with a security bent. In either case, you will have these skills:
A real passion for computer security
Solid research and analytical skills, with an ability to dive deep into complex issues and data,
Understanding of internet technologies and protocols, e.g. SMTP, HTTP, TCP/IP
Programming skills; knowledge of C#, Python, regular expressions and web programming, any C/C++ advantageous
Ability to write clear and concisely on technical issues
Experience with machine learning is desirable
Experience with Windows platform, managing applications on Windows Servers. Linux skills also advantageous
Ability to take the initiative, self-manage, and to run and manage different tasks simultaneously
Education
We prefer college-educated applicants, but at minimum, high school diploma or equivalent is required for employment.
