Position Overview:
 
As a School Guidance Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students by providing individualized guidance and support in the areas of career counseling, academic planning, and emotional well-being. Your expertise will help create a nurturing environment where students are equipped to thrive personally, academically, and socially.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Career & Academic Guidance: Help students explore career options, set academic goals, and provide counseling on course selection, time management, and study skills.
Emotional & Personal Support: Offer one-on-one counseling, crisis intervention, and lead workshops on emotional resilience, stress management, and peer relationships.
Mentor Collaboration: Work closely with teachers to assess students' needs, interpret personality tests, and create personalized development plans.
College & Career Preparation: Guide students through college applications, organize career fairs, college campus tour and offer advice on scholarships and career paths.
Wellness Advocacy: Promote student well-being through wellness programs, mental health initiatives, and support for students facing challenges.
Program Development: Lead initiatives like leadership training, anti-bullying campaigns, mental health awareness, and peer mentoring programs to foster a positive school culture.
Assessment & Reporting: Monitor and assess student progress, maintain confidential records, and prepare reports for parents and school leaders.
Parent & Community Engagement: Communicate with parents as needed, host workshops, and connect families with external resources for additional support and intervention.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Education, or related field (Master's preferred).
Licensed Guidance Counselor or Licensed Professional Counselor (preferred).
2-3 years of relevant experience in school counseling, including career and academic guidance, individual and group counseling, and crisis intervention or any relevant experience
Strong knowledge of child/adolescent development, college admissions, career counseling, and mental health support.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills with students, parents, and faculty.
Ability to handle confidential student records, maintain organizational systems, and prepare progress reports.
