Job Description
Job objective:
Sales managers are the conductors of a company’s revenue engine. They create and nurture high performance sales teams and lead them to generate and hit Sales revenue forecasts while meeting customer needs.
Sales managers is responsible to lead a sales team by providing guidance, training and mentorship, setting sales quotas and goals, creating sales plans, analyzing data, assigning sales territories and building their team.
Duties and a Responsibilities:
On Managing people
Set targets, performance plans, and rigorous, objective standards for Sales & Marketing Department
Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team representatives.
Meet with reps one-on-one weekly to review performance, progress, and targets. [Weekly]
Deliver deep performance reviews for each individual rep once or twice per year. [Semiannually or annually]
Coach individual sales representatives one-on-one through phone work and prospecting help sessions to help them improve sales performance. [Weekly]
Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team and manage the sales program accordingly.
Participate in spontaneous sales call rides and planned field days. [Semimonthly or monthly]
Counsel, support, discipline, and fire underperforming sales representatives.
Manage, develop, coach, control and motivate the sales force to develop their skill to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved and monthly sales target and KPI target are met.
Ensure targets are delivered through people management, performance review, reward and individual recognition
Develop a system standards, sales process and ensure representatives adhere to it correctly.
Ensure that reps use sales technologies for better customer relation management
Plan and implement training programs. Hold regular skills training sessions with internal or external sales trainers. [Monthly]
Plan and preside over weekly sales team meetings. [Weekly]
Develop monetary and non-monetary (intrinsic) motivational tactics, such as sales contests, incentive packages, prizes, and public recognition.
Ensure reps work as a positive unit and share their best practices.
Set a good example for the team. Work according to company culture and values, use good communication, and deliver results effectively.
Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives.
On Managing customer needs
Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and monitor their preferences.
Resolve escalated customer issues and customer complaints regarding sales and service.
Provide expertise when setting and adjusting pricing plans and discount rates.
Provide advanced negotiation expertise.
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
Maintain data relative to partners, accounts and activities and will document customer interaction.
On Managing the business
Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans of the company by implementing marketing strategies; and analyzing trends and results.
Determine and assign sales quotas, targets, and/or goals. Prepare Projection and forecast annual and quarterly revenue for one or more sales territories.
Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
Present sales, revenue and reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company's customer base and ensure it's strong presence.
Develop sales strategies to acquire new customers or clients.
Track sales team metrics and share them with company leadership.
Analyze sales data on sales results and develop plans to address performance gaps.
Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company's relationship with them
Collaborate with CEO to develop lead generation plans.
Plan to ensure achievement of divisional and personal target, aligning with company sales policies and strategies
Prepare budgets and approve expenditures.
Monitor competition, economic indicators, and industry trends.
Continually develop knowledge of the business climate, applications and competition for his/her defined geography and accounts territories
Advance one’s own professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and other educational trainings, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies and industry related networks.
Qualification
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
· With at least 5 years of experience in sales and marketing
· With pleasing personality
· Proven track record of positive sales performance
· Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
· Strong business sense and industry expertise
· Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
· Proven ability to lead a team to meet quotas
· Excellent Management and leadership skills
· Experience in setting sales goals and Sales budgets
· Results-oriented with strong analytical skills
· Deep understanding of Customer Relation Management (CRM )systems and best practices
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
