We are seeking a surveillance analyst covering Cash Equities and EDT, who will be responsible for working with the regional teams, globally, addressing:
Potential market manipulation and misconduct;
Potential insider trading and other Control Room related issues (working with the Control Room);
Potential money laundering (working with the FCR team); and
Misuse of electronic communications
Business Responsibilities
Performing Level One surveillance on a daily basis and escalating any issues to the CE/EDT Level Two teams regionally, where appropriate;
Maintaining adequate documentation of alerts and their resolution, including the updating of systems that are used by CE/EDT Surveillance staff;
Working with local Risk Surveillance/Compliance staff to determine an appropriate, coordinated level of surveillance;
Maintaining the documentation of surveillance parameters and system/user procedures;
Assisting with the UAT of new systems/models as appropriate;
Developing comprehensive and accurate metrics for distribution to Risk Surveillance/Compliance and business management; and
Contributing to monthly management information packs for the various regions for presentation to Senior Management.
Key Skill Requirements
Develop an understanding of how cash equities and EDT are traded
Have knowledge or keen to learn about the differences in products and markets across countries/regions;
Have experience of reviewing and determining the importance of alerts, across trade, e-comms and voice channels; escalating appropriately and ensuring that all remediation steps are completed and documented;
Have a good understanding of business processes, flows, booking methodologies and client interaction;
Demonstrate a good understanding of the role of Risk Surveillance within the banking and financial services industry;
Demonstrate tenacity and flexibility, with experience of managing and prioritising a number of activities simultaneously;
Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
Have the ability to develop relationships across the various Cash Equities teams globally - including Business Aligned Compliance, the Control Room, Central Compliance, Financial Crimes Compliance, Business Operational Risk Management, and other groups to ensure identified issues are appropriately addressed and resolved;
Be self-directed, with the ability to proactively identify and analyse problems, and propose viable solutions; and
Have good organisation skills with the ability to work towards and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate capabilities in the use of various systems used for surveillance; across trading, positions, eComms / voice and other areas
Show understanding of risk prioritisation according to trading characteristics (P&L, position sizes, trading volumes etc.)
