Job Title: Risk and Compliance Assistant Department: Risk, Compliance and Audit Department
Qualification Required
Education: BS in Accountancy or equivalent degree
Work Experience: preferably with one (1) year work experience, though new CPA without work experience yet will be considered/accommodated
Skills/certifications:
CPA, Computer literate, IT and systems-oriented, good oral and verbal communications, results-oriented, teamplayer, can work with minimal supervision
Brief Description of Duties:
· The Risk and Compliance Assistant (RCA) shall monitor Compliance with the external rules and regulations that are imposed upon the organization as a whole. Specifically, he shall monitor compliance through periodic reviews on the compliance responsibilities of the business and support units by conducting independent testing of the business and operations compliance with relevant EMI and VCE regulations.
Responsibilities:
· The RCA shall identify, evaluate and understand all regulatory issuances of BSP, AMLC, SEC, BIR etc. and disseminate the same to all concerned departments and officers.
· He shall keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance and internal control.
· In coordination with the business and support units' compliance coordinators, he shall be responsible for preparing compliance risk self-assessment (CRSA) checklist / questionnaire and compliance grids to be used in conducting independent compliance testing.
· He shall prepare compliance testing reports with highlights on issues of non-compliance, make recommendations to mitigate the compliance risk, and discuss with concerned departments before reports are finalized and approved by the Sr. Compliance Officer for submission to the Management Committee.
· He shall monitor also the resolutions being undertaken by the concerned department officers in order to finally mitigate the risk of non-compliance or regulatory violations.
· He shall set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation and recommend regulatory remedies thereto.
· He shall also play a role in formulating and reviewing policies and procedures as required by Compliance Department and other departments in the company.
· He shall proactively audit processes, practices and documents to identify the weaknesses therein.
· He shall liaise and coordinate with BSP regulators on compliance matters and assist in acting as point-person during regulatory examination.
· He shall perform other tasks or ad hoc tasks from time to time.
