Position: Revenue Analyst
Location: Manila, Philippines
Summary of the Position:
The Revenue Analyst will be responsible for tasks related to all workstreams' (Cloud, On premise, Term License, Maintenance and Professional Service) revenue recognition.
The individual will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate reporting of revenue and accounting data as part of the monthly revenue close process. The Revenue Analyst will assist in the coordination, accounting, and review of sales related transactions.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Part of a team that ensures that all revenue is accounted for in accordance with Genesys policies and accounting guidelines, i.e. ASC 606.
Review of completeness and accuracy of data in the Revenue system (RevPro).
Determining and processing appropriate contract updates, revenue adjustments, and other journals in the Revenue System.
Operating and overseeing revenue-related internal controls.
Significant Excel analysis and manipulation of data to support the monthly close process.
A variety of other processes to ensure the Revenue Accounting team meets its monthly and quarterly objectives.
Prepare deal reviews/checklists to ensure revenue is being recognized in adherence to ASC606 and Company policy.
Prepare analysis and journal entries as necessary to support the month-end close process
Prepare ad hoc analysis and assist in audit requirements.
Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities):
Highly organized, with great attention to detail
Ability to interact effectively with sales and product teams, functional peer groups, and subordinates and to gain cooperation from others, especially those in other departments, as well as with outside auditors and outside legal counsel
Confidence and proven record to communicate both orally and written, including the dissemination of technical information
Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent and diversified tasks, while working with deadlines
Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, and Experience):
Minimum 2-3 years of related Revenue Recognition experience
Experience with software clients and/or industry with a revenue background
Working knowledge of Software Revenue Recognitions Accounting - Familiarity with ASC 985-605 (formerly SOP 97-2), ASU 2009-13 (formerly EITF 08-1) and ASU 2009-14 (formerly EITF 09-3); ASC 606
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
Experience using Salesforce.com, RevPro and NetSuite a plus
Prior experience with SaaS company is a plus
Public accounting experience
Super user in Excel, ADVANCED (Pivoting, VLOOKUP)
Problem solver: Candidate should be a strong, analytical problem solver with a common sense and practical solutions orientation
