Job Description: Revenue Accountant
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Revenue Accountant to join our finance team. As a Revenue Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with accounting standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze customer contracts, perform revenue reconciliations, and provide valuable insights to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Revenue Recognition:
Review customer contracts and agreements to determine appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 (or applicable revenue recognition standards).
Collaborate with sales, legal, and customer success teams to ensure contracts are structured properly from a revenue accounting perspective.
Perform monthly revenue calculations and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Prepare and analyze revenue-related reports, including revenue forecasts, deferred revenue schedules, and revenue recognition metrics.
Reconcile excel reports of operating system to financial system
Provide insights and explanations on revenue trends, anomalies, and variances to stakeholders, including finance management and business partners.
Collaborate with the finance team to support the month-end and year-end close processes related to revenue recognition.
Requirements:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail - A Must
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent education
2 years of experience in revenue accounting
Knowledgeable in revenue recognition principles, specifically ASC 606 (or applicable standards).
Proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and financial modeling.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of financial accounting principles and familiarity with other areas of accounting (e.g., general ledger, accounts receivable) is a plus.
