Proficiency in Phoenix Restoration Software - Hands-on experience with Phoenix is essential for performing high-quality automated and manual restoration tasks.
Digital Post-Production Expertise - Solid foundation in digital workflows including color correction, data management, editing, and image processing.
Frame Reconstruction & Image Repair Skills - Capability to manually and automatically repair or reconstruct damaged or missing film frames
Time Management & Workflow Efficiency - Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain consistent quality across restoration projects.
Nice to have:
Experience with Additional Restoration Tools - Familiarity with software like DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or Diamant Film Restoration can be a strong asset.
Basic Scripting or Automation Knowledge - Ability to use scripts or automation to streamline repetitive tasks and improve workflow efficiency.
Background in Film or Media Archiving - Understanding of film history, formats, and archival standards enhances decision-making during restoration.
What will you do?
Digital Film Restoration - Identify and remove visual defects such as dust, scratches, flicker, and gate weave using manual and automated tools, ensuring the film meets restoration quality standards.
Frame Repair & Reconstruction - Rebuild missing or damaged frames using advanced digital techniques to maintain visual continuity and historical accuracy.
Grain and Noise Management - Apply grain reduction and noise removal processes while preserving the natural texture and integrity of the original footage.
Color and Image Correction - Collaborate with colorists and editors to perform color balancing and image enhancements, ensuring consistency across the restored material.
Quality Control and Review - Conduct detailed reviews of restored footage to detect remaining imperfections and perform final touch-ups, documenting the restoration process for archival purposes.
