Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible in Ensuring that the cold storage system is running at optimum efficiency, by monitoring the performance of each cold rooms, and critical refrigeration equipment and ensuring that critical and major preventive and corrective maintenance are being implemented as required by the system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities on plant's refrigeration system, equipment ensuring the efficient running and prolonged service life of the machines and equipment.
Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment and systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Inspects refrigeration equipment and component to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Perform installation, alteration of refrigeration systems and related equipment/facilities
Adjustments of equipment in a Safe Manner as needed during production.
Establish schedule for the replacement of parts without disrupting process unless repair cannot be performed safely.
Assist in the Preventative Maintenance Program of refrigeration plant using work orders issued by maintenance planner and documenting work performed on equipment's using the plant plant CMMS.
Recommend solutions to the refrigeration system problem that could arise.
Conduct training on the new refrigeration technicians on how to operate the cold storage properly, safely and efficiently
Ensure that proper safety protocol are being followed in conduction the preventive and corrective maintenance activity.
Provides assistance during emergencies calls day or night requiring expertise during trouble.
Assists in supervision of contractors in performance of refrigeration contracted works ensuring quality workmanship and specification.
Recommends and suggests improvements as part of Department Quality Improvements activities.
Performs business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing of data regarding refrigeration energy consumptions.
Implements the good housekeeping program 5s and other company programs in all areas supervised.
Performs work as maybe assigned by the immediate supervisor.
OTHER TASK:
Safety Management
Monitors plant cooling load and power consumptions and ensure that plant usage does not exceed the maximum load threshold.
Conduct ammonia handling and safety training to all personnel working with ammonia
Equipment Safety
Conducts routine inspection of refrigeration equipment in operation, checks equipment operating parameters as prescribed and initiates corrective measures on any abnormality.
Troubleshooting
Conducts problem solving activities on causes and corrective measures on refrigeration concerns. Solicits the advice of Maintenance Supervisor for problems that remain unsolved. Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work - Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
Continuous Improvements
Continuously explore system and facility improvement recommend for implementation.
Risk Management
Closely coordiantes with Maintenance Supervisors and formulate risk management system for the refrigeration Facility.
Consistently ensure that all risk mitigating actions are implemented according to plan and regularly submit risk monitoring report to Mechanical Supervisor.
Continuously identify operational and occupational risk recommend mitigating actions to mechanical supervisor.
Ensure compliance governmental regulations and deviation to such should be brought to the attention of the mechanical supervisor.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
BS Mechanical Engineering Graduate
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Atleast 3 years experience working on SCADA operated ammonia refrigeration system
CRITICAL SKILLS OR COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
