Role Summary:
The Reconciliation Officer is responsible for Fund Reconciliation, Fund Administration and Tax Filing
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs daily reconciliation of cash and securities positions for all the Trust accounts
Performs daily reconciliation of PORTIA Core cash balances and holdings versus Fund
Accounting ledger balances and holdings
Performs weekly and monthly reconciliation of securities positions for all the Trust accounts
Performs monthly reconciliation of cash positions held with other settlement banks
Performs monthly reconciliation of securities positions held by Unit Investment Trust Funds
Monitors ageing of reconciling items, ensure that all reconciliation breaks are properly communicated and escalated to process owners
Allocates monthly and quarterly interest earned of all settlement bank accounts
Acts as documents custodian and ensures all documents are safekept and organized properly. Ensures all movements of documents are also recorded properly.
Complies with regulatory requirements, company and group policies; maintain compliance awareness
Competencies Required:
Knowledge of the banking and financial services industries and asset management products
Efficient and thorough; strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment; firm commitment on quality and excellence.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to develop relationships with multiple stakeholders throughout an organization
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Self-motivated, able to work independently in a relatively unstructured environment
Proficiency with MS Office applications particularly MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word, as well as familiarity with trading systems (Bloomberg etc.)
Knowledge of accounting and financial concepts, experience with bank accounting and financial statement analysis {highly preferred}
Ability to identify and resolve potential issues problems
High level of integrity
Education and Experience Required:
Relevant educational qualifications, preferably in university degree in economics, finance, business, accounting or similar courses
At least 2 years of relevant work experience, particularly in reconciliations operations in banking or investments industry
CPA is highly preferred
