Job Description
 
A. Job Summary:
 
To manage the in-house cost estimating resources and preparation of BOQ/BOM.
 
B. What you'll do:
Understanding the project terms of scope, milestone and methodology.
Cooperate and coordinate with assigned supervisors to ensure productivity is maximized.
Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities outlining all individual components required to construct the project.
Preparation of independent cost estimates (preliminary and detailed) to the required levels of accuracy.
Liaise with the Business Development and directly under with Engineering in verification of designs and preparation of estimates.
Prepare cost comparisons for alternatives design scheme to assess viability of options. Provide recommendations on cost quality.
Finds ways to minimize the cost of the project and enhance the value for money, while still achieving the required standard and quality.
Maintain materials suppliers database for estimating purposes.
Maintain Billing records and able to justify to Finance Department the Progress Billing.
Perform all other duties as assigned and required.
C. Area of expertise:
Cost estimation (Cost saving quantity surveying) in both vertical and horizontal construction.
Bidding Projects
Contractor's Contract, progress claims, variation and change orders.
D. To be successful in this role you need to have:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
With relevant work experience is an advantage.
Knowledgeable in MS Office Application, AutoCAD and other quantity surveying apps.
Must be meticulous, responsible and hardworking.
Good oral and written communication skill.
Possess strong initiative and good analytic skill.
Ability to work in a team.
Strong math knowledge and understands engineering science and technology.
Ability to work with less supervision.
