The primary responsibility of Senior Quality Engineer is to test software requirements in accordance with the business requirements or assigned projects to reach sprint goal.
Senior Quality Engineer also works closely with the Quality Manager / Project Lead and Project Manager / Scrum Master towards backlog and user story refinement. Quality Engineer shall have deep and mature understanding of complete software development/testing life cycle and shall possess demonstrable ability to work independently.
Primary Responsibilities:
Execution of test cases to ensure it confirms business requirement
Ensure that quality processes are carried out through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, while meeting all project-related deadlines
Work with business partners, systems analyst, and programmers to create / analyze required project documents and ensures that quality assurance processes are incorporated
Work closely with the Dev and BA people to identify risks and UAT scope early in the project lifecycle
Understands severity and priority of defects, usability, test scenarios and business impacts, create defects and track it till closure
Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies
Build positive professional relationships with internal and external customers
Work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ project to project
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely completion and delivery of the project
Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
5 - 7+ years IT experience in a software development environment
Strong experience in creating Test Scenarios, Test Cases and Defect tracking
Experience in creation / development of automation framework using automation tool like Selenium / QTP / Java
Experience in creation / development of automation scripts using the automation framework. Knowledge of execution of automated scripts in different test environment. Knowledge of analysis of automation test run log and debugging of scripts
Experience in creating Test Scenarios, Test Cases
Good experience in developing and automating framework using selenium or any other tool
Strong experience working with UI automation tools and experienced with Java, Selenium, Cucumber, etc. and experienced with TDD, BDD framework
Strong experience working with API's like Soap UI, postman or equivalent
Strong demonstrable CI/CD and Jenkins best practices experience
Working knowledge of ATDD, Agile and DevOps practices
Ready to do development when needed considering DevOps Model
Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git, code hub, etc.
Familiar with Agile methodologies
Ability to assist development team members in picking up automation script service support once framework is developed and deployed
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to quickly analyze requirements and recommend impacted areas in the application with pros and cons
Ability to see the broader picture and the impact of changes to all parts of the system. Ability to quickly test the changes
As a Quality Engineer, ability to mentor junior members on how to improve and implement best practices
As a Quality Engineer, ability to document major system functional and Automation items and present with how we improved the system
Technology Skills
Strong experience in Manual and Automation testing and levels of testing
Clear and demonstrable understanding of Software Testing Life cycle
Knowledge on SQL
Understand the concepts and best practices of DevOps and modern CI/CD
Preferred Qualification:
Performance testing experience either in Load Runner / JMeter or any other
