I. Job Description
Software quality assurance (QA) engineer monitors every phase of the development process to ensure that the design and software adhere to company standards. Software delays are costly for a company, so it's vital for releases to meet target dates and stay within budget. A software quality assurance engineer helps meet deadlines by breaking up the development process into attainable testing goals and relaying any issues back to the development and product teams or leaders.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans
Participate during sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings and sprint review.
Ensure products meet customer expectations and demand
Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
Create reports documenting testing phases errors and issues/defects for fixing
Report bugs and errors to development teams
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Maintain standards for reliability and performance of production
Design, develop and execute automation scripts using AI standard tools
Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
Create quality measurements to track improvement in products
Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating quality testing activities
Performs other related duties and work beyond business hours as required.
Adheres to all company policies, processes, and business ethic codes.
Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams
Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
Install and configure systems and applications within the company or client
Qualifications
A. Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related field
(AND/OR) An equivalent of the same in working experience
B. Minimum Experience/Training
Knowledgeable in API testing
Knowledgeable in Load testing/Stress testing and compatibility testing
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Knowledgeable with Agile Methodology is a plus.
Experienced with administering and/or managing Windows Servers and/or RHEL is a plus.
Entry Level / Junior, Apprentice IT and Software Information Technology / IT 2 openings Bachelor's degree graduate
