Develop Test plan and test cases and prioritize testing activities
Create test data for testing
Execute test cases and report defects
Review user stories and/or requirements to document test cases and execute them and document the results
Perform different types of testing like smoke testing, functional testing and regression testing
Communicate to development team about issues and help in issue resolution
Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning and story pointing sessions
Key player on an agile development team
Work very closely with the development team in an agile environment
Work closely with developers to recognize and assess potential risks and resolve issues
Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, critical problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented, self-motivated and should be able to work on fast-paced teams and a quick learner
Knowledge of a broad range of software applications
Excellent analytical skills and strong knowledge of SQL queries - writing and execution
Experienced in backend testing
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to think in the abstract and understand how small details fit in
Should have a logical thinking to understand the flow of the applications
Skilled in developing and maintaining test plans and scripts
Should have experience in Database/ ETL/Reports Testing
Should understand Agile methodology and work on agile projects
Should have knowledge and understanding of defect management tool such as JIRA
Bachelor's degree in computer science or its equivalent
3-5 years of QA experience
Good understanding of QA processes
A good understanding of the applications being tested
Should be able to write and execute SQL queries to validate the DB
Should be able to read unix logs to troubleshoot the issues
