Your Role and Responsibilities

Financial Analysts are considered to be trusted business advisors, working within IBM's business units and geographies, as well as in a myriad of specialized corporate functions. IBM's finance organization is instrumental in driving innovative improvements to global financial processes while providing measurable value to the business.
The analyst role is responsible for the analysis of the IBM forecast, budget, actuals, and business dynamics.
The analyst is responsible for interacting with the business units and geographies on the forecast, actuals, budget and business metrics.
The analyst is responsible for the development of forecast and budget variance analysis and provides business assessments on an ongoing basis.
The analyst designs, prepares, and presents detailed analysis of business issues and recommended solutions to senior management.
The employee focuses on individual/team/department/ operational objectives.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Advanced Excel: the know-how of dynamic tables, pivot tables, V-lookups and so on...
- Basic financial analysis knowledge: Statements analysis, expense/cost reports, financial forecast, etc.
- Fluent English
- Data analysis Skills: Challenge the validity of given procedures and processes to enhance and improve or develop complementary adjustments /solutions
- Good Communication/Negotiation Skills: Engaged as an independent professional. Ability to articulate and compare alternative approaches and negotiate with specified objectives.
- Problem Solving: Recognize problems related to project objectives. Creativity and judgment applied to professional technical, or operational problems. Independently generates solutions, based on analytical Skills & business knowledge.
- Contribution/Leadership Skills: Works on projects or manages routine technical/ operational activities. Understands departmental mission and vision. Provides advice in technical/operational domain of specialization. Generally controls own work priorities and methods requiring tradeoffs.
- Good client management Skills: Contributes by supporting activities that are subject to business measurements, impact customer satisfaction, or impact immediate costs or expenses.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Although we receive recently graduated applications, having 1 or more years of financial analysis experience is preferred.
- Business Administration or Finance degree or related.
